The Role:
As a Systems Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the performance and reliability of our world-class digital audio consoles. This is a varied and dynamic role where no two days will be the same. You will test, diagnose, repair, and report on Digital Audio Consoles, adhering to SSL’s high standards and meeting customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Testing: Conduct thorough testing of new production digital audio consoles to stringent specifications and demanding schedules
- Analysis & Reporting: Analyse test results, produce detailed reports, and effectively communicate findings to Production Management, Quality Assurance, and the Engineering team
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of test activities in line with reporting procedures
- Problem-Solving: Diagnose issues, perform repairs, and work closely with the engineering team to improve product quality and performance
Knowledge and Skills:

Essential Skills:
- A high level of technical competence with excellent problem-solving skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to deliver accurate, high-quality work
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Flexible and adaptable, able to quickly shift focus and direction when required
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with PCB testing and/or SMT rework
- Strong knowledge of digital electronics, microprocessor-based systems, and electronic circuit theory
- Experience with audio systems, audio mixing, or other relevant technologies
- A keen interest in electronics, PC building, and IT networking
- Proficiency with basic PC applications such as Windows, Word, and Excel/Google Sheets
