Looking back to 1985, the 4000E console was prolific in control rooms worldwide, transforming how artists, engineers, and studios made music. That same year, SSL's founder Colin Sanders, led a team to write a report on 'The Future of Audio Console Design' - a book that explored the future of audio and examined the research and development needed to drive the next revolution in technology.

‘The Future of Audio Console Design’ envisioned a world of audio innovation decades ahead of its time - a roadmap to the next technological revolution. Although some of these visions were first imagined decades ago, it is only now that they can be brought to life, combining the knowledge gained over 50 years with cutting-edge technology and an unquenchable passion for music and audio production.
