About Stefano Civetta

Stefano Civetta is an audio engineer, producer, and composer with over twenty years of industry experience. Bridging the gap between major pop productions and blockbuster orchestral scores, his background combines profound technical knowledge with an intuitive musical ear. He holds a Tonmeister degree in Music and Sound Recording from the University of Surrey.

For seven years, Stefano served as an engineer at the iconic Abbey Road Studios, where he mastered large-format console recording and complex session management. During his tenure, he engineered and assisted on sessions for some of the most legendary figures in music history. Notably, he collaborated closely with Giles Martin on the highly acclaimed fiftieth-anniversary reissues of The Beatles' The White Album and Abbey Road. His artist credits span a diverse range of global talent, including Nile Rodgers, The Beach Boys, Mary J. Blige, One Direction, and Andrea Bocelli performing with the BBC Orchestra.

In addition to his work on commercial records, Stefano has contributed to more than sixty major motion picture soundtracks. His engineering credits feature massive blockbuster titles such as Avengers: Endgame, Rocketman, The Martian, Solo: A Star Wars Story and The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, alongside major video game scores like Halo 5: Guardians and Assassin’s Creed. His meticulous tracking skills and ear for acoustic detail have also made him highly sought after in the virtual instrument world, where he recorded drum sample libraries for Toontrack, specifically engineering the highly acclaimed Fusion EZX.

Today, Stefano serves as the Resident Engineer at School Farm Studios, managing dynamic workflows—from full live orchestral sessions to multi-layered film scores—on a forty-eight-channel Solid State Logic Duality Fuse console.

A seasoned educator, Stefano draws heavily on his experience leading masterclasses for the Abbey Road Institute and workshops at his own School Farm Studios. His teaching philosophy is straightforward: no gatekeeping and no industry secrets. He genuinely loves teaching, drawing on his years in world-class studios to give aspiring engineers an honest, fully transparent look at his mic placements, tracking methods, and workflows used on blockbuster sessions.
